Janab Mohammed Ismail "Chinna Munshi" (1899–1954) Known as "Chinna Munshi," Janab Mohammed Ismail joined
government service at the age of eleven. A skilled writer and journalist fluent in Urdu and Telugu, he was
deeply involved in India’s freedom struggle, working alongside prominent leaders like Padmaja Naidu and B.
Ramakrishna Rao. He was posthumously awarded the *Freedom Fighter Award* by the Government of India in 1997.
An expert in land reforms, he played a pivotal role in the *Hyderabad Land Reforms Committee* and the
implementation of the *Hyderabad Tenancy Act, benefiting countless poor cultivators.
His passion for education and social development led to the founding of the **Chinna Munshi Educational
Society* in 1996, and the establishment of *Chinna Munshi Public School* and *Junior College* in Chinnor,
Adilabad, in his honor.
